We are currently looking for a Band 4 Dietetic Assistant Practitioner to join our dynamic, friendly Dietetic team who are patient-focused and thrive on providing quality care.

Main duties of the job
JOB SUMMARY
The Community Dietetic Assistant Practitioner will support the Dietetic Adult and Child Community Teams within Bromley and Bexley. The Nutrition and Dietetic department includes provision of a home enteral feed service, management of oral nutritional supplements (ONS) for patients in care homes, their own homes and in a clinic setting.
To support the Dietitian in delivery of high level, quality care and evidence-based interventions in line with local and national guidance
To support Dietetic intervention in both autonomous and multidisciplinary scenarios
To plan, provide and evaluate nutritional interventions within a framework laid down by the Dietitian, in group and individual settings
To supervise/support identified assistants and students
To undertake administrative duties as required
To manage a caseload, including self- directed planning and time management
To support with clinical triage
Contribute to the on-going development of the Assistant Practitioner role
Dietetics Team members work with other agencies and other health professionals to promote diet, nutrition and health through health promotion initiatives, campaigning, education and training.

Qualifications
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent knowledge acquired through \βin house\β training and experience of specific patient conditions and forms of therapy
- Evidence of Professional Development
Professional Registration
- Member of British Dietetic Association (BDA)

- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Acknowledges own limitations and seeks advice from clinician when appropriate
- Ability to interpret clinical information/data
- Understanding of all areas of clinical governance including audit
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
- Ability to work with patients with complex communication needs and/or barriers to communication and understanding
- Understanding of professional issues and ethics, and their application to practice
- Ability to manage and prioritise work and clinical caseload.
- Knowledge of relevant national guidelines, frameworks and policies
- Valid driving licence and daily use of a vehicle. (Business Class insurance will be required).
- Excellent presentation skills, both written and oral
- Confident in the use of different equipment for accurate anthropometry (body measurements)
- Ability to supervise and manage junior staff and student dietitians
- Anthropometric measurements of children and babies
- Evidence of development of web pages and service leaflets
Experience
