Job Overview

The post holder will be responsible for professional leadership and day-to-day operational management of a Bromley 0-19 Health Visiting team. The post holder will manage the clinical and operational requirements of the team, provide professional advice, including safeguarding and clinical input within their area of practice. The post holder will work with Service Lead and other Locality Leads to improve standards and promote good practice and clinical effectiveness within the Bromley 0-19 Children’s Public Health Service. The post holder will provide visible leadership to the team.

Main Duties of the Job

  • The post holder will be responsible for the daily operations within a Bromley borough Health Visiting team.
  • They will work closely with other Locality Leads, the Professional Development Nurse, and Specialist Health Visitors and practitioners to support staff in achieving key objectives for the service.
  • The post holder will review the KPIs and other relevant performance data monthly for the service, and highlight any anomalies in the data ahead of the quarterly contract meetings.
  • The post holder will work closely with the Bromley 0-19 Service Lead and will be responsible for operational management and clinical leadership with a health visiting team.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing or Midwifery
  • Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) BSc or PGDip in Health Visiting
  • Nurse Prescriber
  • Professional Registration
  • Current NMC registration in Nursing or Midwifery

Experience

  • Experience of clinical and operational risk assessment
  • High level of knowledge of child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Good knowledge and understanding of audits and clinical governance frameworks
  • Experience of partnership and collaborative working
  • Experience of line management and knowledge and experience of HR processes
  • Good knowledge and understanding of data protection, IG and confidentiality
  • Experience of writing policies and procedures
  • Understanding of research and development
  • Knowledge of national policies, legislation, NHS agenda etc. in relation to 0 -19 provision and Health Visiting
  • Experience of managing staff within a community nursing team
  • Experience of health profiling
