Bromley Healthcare is offering sponsorship for qualified Midwives and Registered Nurses to complete the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification to become School Nurses. We are invested in the development of School Nursing, underpinned by our Public Health Nursing strategy and training programme for all roles within the PHN teams.

The university: Bromley Healthcare sponsors SCPHN HVs and SNs in partnership with King’s College London. The Specialist Community Public Health Visiting Postgraduate Diploma course is tailored to offer the professional qualification for qualified nurses who wish to gain entry to the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing part of the National Midwifery Council (NMC) register as a School Nurse. This course is offered as a Level 7 programme.

Person specification:

• Proficient knowledge of MS Office.
• Experience of using EMIS.
• Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Evidence of involvement in the management of difficult situations and conflict resolution.
• Academic ability to study independently at postgraduate level 7.
• Knowledge of local and national policies that influence public health.
• Awareness of the role of contemporary school nursing & working with children and young people in community settings.
• Ability to support children and families to make informed decisions in relation to their health and well-being.
• Current knowledge of safeguarding issues.
• Demonstrate knowledge of research-based practice.
• Evidence of supporting equality and valuing diversity in own practice.
• Car owner/driver as travel between sites and clients homes is required.

Qualifications:

• BSc 2.1 or above.
• Registered Nurse or Midwife.
• Current NMC registration.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
• Evidence of continual professional development at level 6.
