Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Leadership team within Bromley 0-19, for experienced SCPHNs who wish to pursue a career in management and leadership. The post holder will be responsible for professional leadership and day-to-day operational management of a Bromley 0-19 Health Visiting team. The post holder will manage the clinical and operational requirements of the team, provide professional advice, including safeguarding and clinical input within their area of practice. The post holder will work with Service Lead and other Locality Leads to improve standards and promote good practice and clinical effectiveness within the Bromley 0-19 Children’s Public Health Service. The post holder will provide visible leadership to the team.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will be responsible for the daily operations within a Bromley borough Health Visiting team. They will work closely with other Locality Leads, the Professional Development Nurse, and Specialist Health Visitors and practitioners to support staff in achieving key objectives for the service. The post holder will review the KPIs and other relevant performance data monthly for the service, and highlight any anomalies in the data ahead of the quarterly contract meetings. The post holder will work closely with the Bromley 0-19 Service Lead and will be responsible for operational management and clinical leadership with a health visiting team.
Person Specification
- Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Nursing or Midwifery, Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) BSc or PGDip in Health Visiting, Nurse Prescriber, Current NMC registration in Nursing or Midwifery.
- Training: Practice Assessor training, Evidence of Continuing Professional Development, Member of relevant special interest groups.
- Information Technology: Experience using an electronic patient record system e.g. EMIS, Ability to use MS Office e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Experience: Clinical and operational risk assessment, knowledge of child protection and safeguarding policies, partnership and collaborative working, line management, data protection, writing policies and procedures, managing staff within a community nursing team.
- Specific Skills: Ability to autonomously manage a complex caseload, significant clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to teach and supervise others effectively.
