We are looking for an experienced podiatrist to join our supportive and friendly team to provide high quality wound care intervention for our community patients. The prospective candidate must have broad experience in the field of wound care, be highly motivated, flexible, and able to line manage and work as part of a team. The successful candidate will have a community‐focused clinical caseload with a responsibility to provide foot and ankle diagnosis, network with an MDT approach, and provide best practice care with outstanding outcomes for our patients.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Managing a small team, coordinating best patient care, sharing knowledge with the wider team, and presenting case discussions and research at team and MDT meetings.
  • Maintaining clinical and domiciliary caseloads, remote monitoring via Minuteful for wounds app, and regular contact with nursing teams.

We encourage team members to take part in various CPD activities including clinical supervision, in‐house training during department meetings in addition to external training sessions.

Salary is dependent on NHS experience and current banding/pay point. You will manage a caseload, coordinate care and direct staff, triage referrals and aim to offer a responsive service. You will liaise with podiatrists, orthotists and surgeons, and form treatment plans for internal and external departments to follow.

Professional Registration: Registration with HCPC is required.

Experience: Post‐graduate experience of treating a high‐risk caseload including a wound care caseload and a willingness to undertake post‐graduate training and education in specialist areas of podiatry.

Skills: Ability to diagnose, construct, document, implement and evaluate care plans using a holistic approach. Good verbal and written communication skills to deal with people of all age groups in clinical situations and with other health‐care professionals.

Qualifications: Podiatry Diploma/ Degree and commitment to continuous development of clinical skills and professional knowledge.
