Job overview:

Fixed Term - 10 months - Full time - 37.5 hours per week. The post holder is expected to have a clear understanding of how this post contributes to the achievement and values of the organisation. Main duties of the job:

  • Ensure staff are supported and empowered to make decisions related to adult safeguarding.
  • Assist with the development, delivery and evaluation of evidence based Safeguarding Training, including Mental Capacity Act (MCA), Deprivation of Liberty safeguards (DoLS), Domestic abuse, Self-neglect and PREVENT to staff across Bromley Healthcare.
  • Act as a resource and provide advice on the use and application of the Mental Capacity Act / Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard (DoLS), in particular the use of least restrictive practice to enable staff to complete their assessments and applications in a robust and timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain Safeguarding adult resources across Bromley Healthcare, ensuring these are updated in line with any changes in legislation, to ensure compliance and support best practice.
  • Work in partnership with Safeguarding Children Advisors/Named Nurses and peers to deliver a ‘think family’ approach when managing adults at risk or those identified as having increased vulnerability who may have children.
  • Contribute to audit and the monitoring of standards relating to safeguarding adults and mental capacity.
  • Support the collection and collation of data to inform changes in practice that may be required from the audit.
  • Contribute towards the development of safeguarding adult reports for the Bromley Healthcare Board and the Safeguarding Adult Boards.

Compensation is contingent upon NHS experience and current banding/pay point. Salary is determined by NHS experience and current banding/pay point. External applicants will begin at the entry point of the salary scale in line with NHS terms and conditions.
