You are an empathic and skilled professional with strong assessment, communication, and collaboration abilities. You possess a good understanding of or willingness to learn about the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding principles. Ideally, you have a relevant social or health care qualification and experience working within Health and Social Care, directly engaging with adults and carers. You can work under pressure, independently, and flexibly, undertaking home visits as needed, with the mobility to travel across various locations.

What the Job Involves

As a Care Manager Assistant in the Penge & Beckenham Locality Team, you'll undertake adult and carer assessments, developing and monitoring support plans in line with the Care Act 2014 and local procedures. Your role includes promoting direct payments, ensuring cost-effective service delivery, and supporting qualified staff with practical tasks. You will maintain records, engage with users following anti-discriminatory practices, and work collaboratively with other professionals and third-party organizations. The role also involves handling preliminary safeguarding inquiries, participating in duty operations, and contributing to service development. Progression criteria require complex case management capabilities, ongoing learning, and potentially progressing from BR8 to BR9 with relevant NVQ qualifications.
