We have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to join us to play a critical role in shaping the organisation’s H&S strategy.
The role
In this key position, you will support the delivery and continuous improvement of the organisation’s Health & Safety strategy, embedding a positive safety culture and supporting compliance across operational areas. Your remit will include office environments, housing stock, repairs and maintenance, and contractor operations. This is a structured development role designed to build technical competence and operational experience over a two-year period including relevant professional membership. The postholder will be expected to work towards an appropriate Level 6 Health & Safety qualification (starting within the first 6 months of employment) with increasing responsibility and independence as capability and experience grows.
About you
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic professional looking to take the next step in their career with a commitment to developing and learning. You will already hold an IOSH membership and will have experience or exposure to health and safety, compliance, housing, property or operational risk environments. You will need to have basic knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and a commitment to structured development and training. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to manage contractors and stakeholders, as well as communicate with customers and colleagues. Experience in housing or property maintenance, supporting safety training or toolbox talks, using compliance systems, contributing to safety improvement initiatives would be desirable however is not essential. This post requires that the job holder is subject to a DBS check at an Enhanced level. Possession of a current valid driving licence and appropriately insured car is a requirement for the post.
