Are you an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer looking for a role where your expertise helps keep homes and communities safe every day? Reporting to the Facilities Services Delivery Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining, servicing, fault‑finding, and commissioning fire safety systems across our properties and network buildings. This is a field‑based role, and you’ll be provided with a company van to travel across Coventry, Wolverhampton, and surrounding areas, supporting customers across our housing portfolio.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Servicing, maintaining, fault‑finding, and commissioning fire alarm systems
  • Carrying out PPMs, emergency lighting tests, and minor repairs
  • Working on addressable and conventional fire alarm systems, including AOV and MOV systems
  • Installing and commissioning new or replacement systems
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, compliantly, and within agreed timescales
  • Recording work completed using company systems and maintaining certification records
  • Providing excellent customer service and supporting continuous service improvement
  • Following all Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments, and safeguarding responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems over several years
  • Strong knowledge of BS5839 standards (essential)
  • Experience working with AOV and MOV systems
  • Experience maintaining and repairing emergency lighting systems
  • Ability to work independently using initiative, while also contributing effectively within a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Reliable, organised, and professional approach to work
  • Confidence using tablets, smartphones, digital systems, and email
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
  • Ability to complete a Basic DBS Check (Provided by BFL)
  • Willingness to work safely and responsibly across all locations
  • Commitment to wearing PPE and following all Health & Safety procedures
