At Bromford Flagship LiveWest (BFL), our purpose is simple: to invest in homes and relationships so people can thrive. We believe every customer has a fundamental right to a home that is safe, secure and warm — and we will never compromise on delivering homes that meet and exceed these standards.

We are now looking for a Remote Surveying Specialist to join our Healthy Homes team, playing a key role in improving customer outcomes through fast, accurate and effective case assessment. In this role, you will be responsible for the initial triage and desktop assessment of Housing Health cases, helping us respond quickly and appropriately to issues such as damp, mould and disrepair. Using photographic evidence, customer insight and your expertise in building pathology, you will diagnose defects remotely and determine the most effective course of action. Where possible, you will create works packages without the need for a site visit — and where necessary, you will ensure cases are escalated for full survey. You’ll engage directly with customers to understand their concerns, explain findings in plain language, and ensure they feel supported throughout the process. A key part of your role will be ensuring compliance with Awaab’s Law and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), using your professional judgement to prioritise cases and drive timely resolutions. Working closely with the wider Healthy Homes team, you’ll help manage the triage pipeline, reduce backlog, and ensure cases are progressed efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Triage incoming Housing Health cases and assign appropriate priority levels
  • Assess defects remotely using photos and customer information
  • Diagnose issues and identify root causes, particularly relating to damp and mould
  • Create clear, cost-effective works packages using SOR codes
  • Determine which cases require on-site surveys
  • Communicate with customers to gather information and explain next steps
  • Maintain accurate case records and audit trails
  • Collaborate with surveyors and coordinators to ensure seamless case progression
  • Manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining quality and compliance
  • Ensure all activity aligns with regulatory requirements, including Awaab’s Law

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in building pathology and diagnosing residential property defects
  • Strong knowledge of damp, mould and condensation issues
  • Understanding of housing legislation, including Awaab’s Law and HHSRS
  • Experience specifying remedial works and producing practical, cost‑effective solutions
  • Ability to assess defects from photographic evidence and customer descriptions
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a high caseload
  • Good understanding of building regulations and compliance requirements

Additional Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence (occasional site visits may be required)
  • Ability to pass a Basic DBS check

Benefits

  • £40,000 – £45,000 per year with annual pay review
  • Enjoy up to £30 per month for drinks while on the road
  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with buy/sell options
  • Pension Employer contributions up to 10 %
  • £500 per year for private medical, dental, gym or insurance
  • Life assurance and wellbeing support for you and your family

Closing Date 10th July 2026
