What you’ll be doing

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on complex employee relations cases, balancing risk, compliance, organisational priorities and colleague experience.
  • Take an end to end view of HR services – from recruitment and onboarding through to colleague experience, employee relations and off‑boarding – ensuring a consistently high quality, values‑aligned approach.
  • Champion strong management practice across the organisation, using insight from day to day people processes to uphold and embed our culture and values.
  • Identify patterns, trends and management capability gaps, working in partnership with Academy colleagues to design and deliver targeted training and development solutions.
  • Act as a key interface between operational delivery and strategic people priorities, feeding back insight on process effectiveness and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with senior HR leaders, HR Services colleagues and business stakeholders to ensure alignment, consistency and continuous improvement in HR services.
  • Use people data, feedback and observation to inform decision making and support service design, innovation and efficiency.

What we’re looking for

  • You’ll be a confident, credible HR leader with a strong service mindset and a passion for developing others.
  • You’ll bring proven experience leading and managing HR professionals, with strong expertise in employee relations and core people processes.
  • The ability to balance empathy and compliance while delivering high quality, consistent HR support aligned to organisational values and culture.
  • A track record of identifying capability gaps and partnering with learning or development teams to deliver practical, targeted solutions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor advice and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive, whole service mindset, comfortable joining up strategy and operational delivery.
  • Confidence working with data and insight to improve HR services and colleague experience.

Qualifications and additional requirements
