We have a vacancy within our Manufacturing Department and are currently recruiting for a Semi‑Skilled Sheet Metal Worker (Assembly & Riveting Technician). We are looking for candidates who have relevant and proven experience and are seeking an opportunity to develop their skills and join a growing organisation.

Shift Pattern: 36.5 hours each week working the Early Shift – 06:00 to 14:30 Monday to Thursday, and 06:00 to 10:30 Friday. You will be entitled to two breaks Monday to Thursday, one 10‑minute unpaid break and one 20‑minute unpaid break.

Responsibilities (specific to the role):

  • Assembly and riveting of sheet‑metal components in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand data cards and drawings to the level required for machine set up and operation.
  • Set up machines with the required settings and tooling in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • Complete riveting operations efficiently in accordance with Job Card instructions to achieve the required output levels.
  • Skilled in the use of riveting equipment, measuring equipment and hand tools.

General responsibilities:

  • Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Read and understand the requirements on the Job Card for the operation to be carried out.
  • Ensure that all the documentation required to carry out the operation in accordance with the Job Card is available at the point of use and at the correct revision.
  • Read and understand all manufacturing instructions prior to commencing an operation, including Engineering Drawings, Data Cards, etc.
  • Use all measuring equipment as required to check conformance to requirements.
  • Carry out in‑process inspection in accordance with relevant specifications to ensure that components are conforming prior to passing on to subsequent operations.
  • Ensure that components identified as non‑conforming during in‑process inspection are identified and communicated in accordance with the Non‑Conformance Procedure.
  • Complete all work booking requirements within the MRP system to ensure accurate WIP records.
  • Follow work handling and storage instructions to prevent damage to components.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis activities when non‑conformance occurs to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensure that work areas are tidy, cleaned and maintained in accordance with 5S requirements.
  • Engage and contribute to Continuous Improvement activities to maximise efficiency.
  • Comply with all company procedures and policies.

Person Specification:

  • Build good working relationships and act as a team player.
  • Maintain high attention to detail and process adherence applying a right‑first‑time mentality.
  • Be reliable and dedicated.
  • Manage workload and be organised, prioritising where necessary.
  • Be conscious of and adhere to housekeeping requirements.
  • Preferably 3 years’ experience in the Aerospace Industry.
  • Experience of reading engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances.
