We're looking for a Driver Labourer to join our Repairs & Voids team, helping us provide an outstanding repairs and maintenance service to our customers. In this varied and hands-on role, you'll carry out driving duties alongside labouring and property maintenance activities, supporting colleagues across the business to ensure homes are safe, well-maintained, and ready for our tenants.
You'll be responsible for delivering materials and equipment, supporting maintenance operations, carrying out property clearances, assisting with repairs, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Location: Mildenhall, Newmarket, Cambridge
Hours: Full Time - 40 hpw - Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent + company van
What You'll Be Doing
- delivering building materials, equipment, and plant hire across the region.
- picking, assembling, loading, and transporting orders safely and efficiently.
- operating and maintaining a company vehicle.
- supporting repairs and maintenance teams with labouring tasks.
- carrying out void clearances, flood repairs, and damp and mould cleaning.
- collecting and disposing of waste in accordance with procedures.
- identifying situations where asbestos removal is required and arranging appropriate action.
- assessing work requirements and supporting the preparation of estimates using schedules of rates.
- delivering excellent service to customers while maintaining safe working practices.
What You'll Bring
Essential
- full UK driving licence.
- previous experience in a delivery driving and/or labouring role.
- good practical skills and the ability to complete a range of maintenance-related tasks.
- strong customer service, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- competent IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
- ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- knowledge of the East Anglia region and effective route planning.
- experience ordering and collecting materials or plant hire.
- experience using stock management systems.
- understanding of safeguarding and emergency procedures.
