PLEASE NOTE: This role is based in our office 5 days a week. Please only apply if you are able to travel to and work from Bromley. This role is ideal for someone looking to move from practice into industry. Bromcom provides a Management Information System to the education market. The company is poised for significant growth from new business and by taking market share from other solutions on the market. We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to undertake all aspects of financial management and reporting for this fast-growing Software company. The Management Accountant will report to the Head of Finance.

The Management Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting function, preparation of management accounts and monthly reporting. Also responsible for preparing the year-end accounts and supporting the annual audit. The role would suit someone who is analytical and diligent and will add value through generating insight by providing departmental performance analysis, monitoring KPI’s and supporting the Head of Finance.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day administration and accounting function of the company with the responsibility for a small team and reporting directly to the Head of Finance.
  • Strive to maintain the company ethos for diligent, accurate and high-quality work across the department.
  • Undertake the month-end close process, including reconciliation of control accounts, to enable accurate and timely reporting of monthly management information.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts including departmental P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Prepare and update departmental forecasts and report variance analysis against actuals and budgets.
  • Undertake KPI/margin analysis to drive efficiencies and identify opportunities to increase revenue and reduce/monitor costs across all departments.
  • Leading and coordinating the annual budgeting process, forecast review and cashflow management process.
  • Manage preparation of audit file to ensure all post balance sheet events and any provisions are accounted for prior to commencement of audit work.
  • Liaise with company auditors to ensure smooth workflow of the audit assignment and signed financial statements are available for filing and circulation as required.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns.
  • Implement systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.
  • Develop and document business processes according to ISO standards and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Assist the CFO in ad hoc projects and additional duties as necessary.
Requirements
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT Level 4
  • Experience in preparing management accounts/budgeting/forecasting/cashflow management
  • Strong understanding of accounting under UK GAAP
  • Leadership skills, interpersonal skills, integrity, reliability, diligent, accuracy with high attention to detail
  • Organisation skills with ability to effectively prioritise to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Ability to work both independently and with other departments
  • Excellent analytical and numerical abilities
  • Excellent computer skills with preferably experience using Sage Intacct and Microsoft Dynamics 365
