As a pivotal member of our marketing team, the Events & Sponsorship Manager takes the lead on developing, executing and evaluating a quality client-focused events programme and high-impact sponsorship initiatives, supporting the firm’s strategic goals and enhancing our market presence. The position is creative, dynamic and fast-paced, requiring effective workload management and close collaboration with colleagues and external suppliers to deliver projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will be confident, organised and capable of fostering strong working relationships with colleagues throughout the firm.

This is a hybrid position, based in Glasgow or Edinburgh, with occasional travel to other locations across the UK, and requires flexibility to work outside standard office hours where needed to support successful event delivery. This role ensures the firm’s events portfolio is innovative, data driven, strategically aligned and executed to an exceptional standard.

CORE TASKS
  • Event strategy and planning: Design and deliver a varied, engaging annual events programme aligned with the firm’s business objectives.
  • Lead the planning and execution of a varied portfolio of client-facing and internal events, including conferences, seminars, panels, hybrid events, roundtables, networking events, and hospitality.
  • Ensure events reflect a client-first approach, incorporating data insights, accessibility principles and emerging trends.
  • Produce business case appraisals for proposed events and oversee post-event review processes, reporting on ROI and sharing actionable insights with stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to ensure our events programme achieves maximum engagement, impact, alignment with business objectives and supports relationship-building and market positioning.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external suppliers, ensuring seamless delivery of events.
  • Oversee end-to-end event delivery including budgets, logistics, supplier management, venue liaison, delegate experience, post-event follow-up and ROI analysis.
  • Ensure all event communications and supporting materials are creative, on-brand, and consistent in messaging and style.
  • Use CRM and marketing technology to support targeted invitations, personalised engagement and efficient operational workflows.
  • Support data driven decision making, leveraging insights to refine formats, improve attendee experience and measure impact.
Team Management
  • Line-manage, coach and develop junior events team: providing guidance, support and ensuring high performance and professional development and to boost engagement, raise the profile of events and sponsorships, and provide analysis and regular updates across the firm.
Sponsorship Management
  • Lead activation and communication planning for sponsorship initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment, quality control and measurable value.
  • Evaluate, negotiate and manage sponsorship opportunities to maximise brand visibility and relationship development.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key organisations, negotiate sponsorship packages, and oversee associated activities including branding, marketing, communications, and event logistics.
Budget & Reporting
  • Manage event and sponsorship budgets, delivering cost-effective, high-quality experiences.
  • Track KPIs, ROI, attendance, client follow-ups and feedback.
  • Produce post-event reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
  • At least five years’ experience in event management and sponsorship, ideally within a professional services or corporate environment.
  • Creative flair with a passion for delivering engaging, high-quality events and campaigns, paired with a strategic mindset.
  • Excellent project management, organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong people-management skills with experience leading a team.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience of budget and supplier management.
  • Proactive, organised and adaptable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels and build effective relationships.
  • Experienced in stakeholder management, capable of positive influence and advising.
  • Experience with CRM systems and a strong understanding of GDPR requirements.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and a commitment to excellence.
  • Consistently presents a professional image to both internal clients and external organisations.
  • Be aware of Brodies’ information security policies, and protect information assets from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference at all times.
