We have an opportunity for a Solicitor or Senior Solicitor to join our Real Estate practice, with a primary focus on purchase, sales and letting of commercial premises and land acquisition for housebuilders. This is a fast‑paced role within a large team and the successful candidate will have exposure to clients on a regular basis. The wider Real Estate practice at Brodies is top ranked by the independent legal directories Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500 and is regarded by market commentators as the leading practice in the Scottish market in recent years.
The role holder will gain a varied and interesting commercial property experience ranging from:
- Acting as advisor to an exciting array of real estate clients
- Being a key part of the team handling leasing and conveyancing services
- Building and maintaining client and agent relationships
- Initiation of and participation in business development activities of the practice area and firm
Ultimately you will become a key team member of Scotland's biggest real estate practice and be available to assist the wider real estate practice area in completing a wide variety of property projects.
CORE TASKS
You will have a vital role in a busy team that lets you learn from and with your colleagues and be involved in transactions from an early stage:
- Delivery of all aspects of purchase and sale transactions relating to commercial properties.
- Drafting of lease documentation for landlords and tenants of commercial buildings and lease management transactions such as lease extensions and rent reviews.
- Negotiating and implementing the full spectrum of contractual documents for land acquisition and options to purchase development sites for housebuilders.
- You will gain an in depth understanding of the sectors our clients are working in, from both a legal and commercial perspective.
- Review, analyse and report on titles.
- You will be encouraged to develop a highly commercial approach to the advice you provide.
- You will become a valued advisor to busy property professionals who look to you for sensible, pragmatic and cost effective solutions to ensure they meet their targets.
- Involvement in business development activities and firm initiatives.
