Brodie has a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on, creative, forward-thinking graduate knitwear designer to join a rapidly growing international cashmere knitwear company. The business has an impressive reputation for bold exciting cashmere knitwear and has growth plans with new marketplaces to explore. We pride ourselves in offering fashion-forward cashmere knitwear with unique design features in styles our global customers will find timelessly elegant. We specialise in cashmere ladies wear and produce mixed blend compositions.

We offer a very desirable opportunity for the correct candidate to further their career within the business as it grows. You will be:

  • Researching the latest trends in knitwear, print and colour from multiple sources.
  • Helping to identify key shapes and techniques for the upcoming season.
  • Interpreting your research into suitable product CAD designs using Adobe Illustrator.
  • Creating mood & colour boards.
  • Playing a key part in supporting the Design Team.
  • Helping to create and manage detailed design packs for the factories.
  • Managing sales and trade reports to support design decisions.
  • Supporting the team in meeting set ups and daily ad-hoc tasks.
  • Creating technical design specs to send to our overseas factories.
  • Working closely with the technical team including being present in fittings.
  • Liaising with our factories on a daily basis.
  • Adhering to the critical path and helping achieve deadlines in order to have the products ready for the optimum selling period.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level with a minimum 2.1 degree in Fashion Design or other related subject or equivalent practical attainment.
  • Skilled on Adobe Illustrator.
  • Adobe Photoshop and InDesign skills.
  • A keen interest in luxury knitwear.
  • Creative and trend-driven with a good eye for colour, print and detail.
  • Attentive to detail with the ability to think creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Organised with good time management and able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Team player and able to build relationships.
  • An energetic and fun approach to work with the ability to adapt, be proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Microsoft Office skills.
