This is a full‐time, on‐site General Operative role based in North Cave. The General Operative will support daily site operations, including handling, moving, and preparing materials for processing and shipment. Responsibilities include:
- Loading and unloading goods
- Assisting with packing and labeling
- Ensuring stock is stored safely and efficiently
- Operating material handling equipment (such as forklifts or pallet jacks, where appropriately trained and certified)
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area
- Following all health, safety, and environmental procedures
The General Operative will work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production targets, support continuous improvement, and uphold quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience with shipping & receiving activities, including checking documentation, handling deliveries, and preparing goods for dispatch.
- Skills in packing and basic warehouse organization to ensure items are correctly packaged, labeled, and stored.
- Ability to safely perform unloading tasks, including manual handling, in line with health and safety guidelines.
- Competence in forklift operation and pallet jack use, with relevant licenses or certifications where required.
- Comfort working in an industrial or warehouse environment, with a strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and teamwork.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow standard operating procedures with attention to detail.
