We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Foundation to join the team on a part time (0.7), permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £31,930 to £42,454 per annum, pro rata, DOE. (Unqualified teachers £25,297 to £31,930 per annum pro rata, DOE.) We are a high-achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.

About the role: As the Lecturer in Foundation, you will continually improve the learning experience and achievement of students through effective teaching. Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Foundation will include:

  • Teaching on courses as agreed with the Curriculum Lead.
  • Taking on the responsibilities of a Foundation Personal tutor, when required.
  • Preparing and marking student work, monitoring progress towards individual targets, keeping records and providing timely reports/reviews/EHCP feedback to students, parents, employers and College managers, as appropriate.
  • Working closely with other colleagues to respond to the needs of students.
  • Contributing to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum.

As our Lecturer in Foundation, you'll ideally have:

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification in relevant subject area.
  • Appropriate teacher training qualification.
  • Experience of high quality teaching to both 16-25 year olds and adult students with SEND.
  • Experience of delivery of effective pastoral support and the development of Individual learning plans.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current developments in SEND.
  • Creative, supportive and positive approach to teaching, learning and assessment.
  • The ability to motivate and support students effectively to ensure their success.
