Brockenhurst College is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our Student Services Admin Hub as a Student Support Adviser. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-performing educational institution that welcomes approximately 3,000 sixth form students annually from across the region. Situated within the picturesque New Forest National Park, Brockenhurst College offers a broad curriculum, outstanding facilities, and a strong commitment to professional development. Are you friendly, welcoming, efficient and calm under pressure with great customer service skills? This full-time, permanent post has a competitive salary of £24,617 per annum and the opportunity to join a local government pension scheme.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality customer service and administrative support, ensuring the smooth operation of Student Services. Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering efficient service at the Helpdesk and Reception.
  • Preparing documentation using various media formats.
  • Safely disposing of confidential materials.
  • Assisting students and parents in accessing college systems.
  • Providing accurate information, advice and guidance via email, telephone, and in person.
  • Handling incoming calls to our college switchboard.
  • Supporting college events such as Open Evenings, Parents' Evenings, Induction, and Enrolment Days.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Providing administrative support to Directors of Faculty and their areas of curriculum.

As our Student Support Adviser, you'll ideally have:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including Grade C (4) in English and Grade C (4) or above in Mathematics.
  • Office based work experience.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications (including Word and Excel).
  • Able to work as part of a team, establishing a good rapport with colleagues, staff and managers.
  • Desire to contribute to the continuing development and effectiveness of the student admin, admissions and school liaison team.
  • Flexibility in working pattern to cover peak times and the very occasional Saturday.
