We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Learning Technologist to join the team on a full time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £31,220 - £33,285 per annum. We are a high-achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.
About the role: As the Digital Learning Technologist, you will support the effective integration and use of technology in teaching and learning, and across professional service areas. This role will work closely with curriculum teams, and the wider Digital departments to develop and enhance learning using innovative learning technologies, with a particular focus on AI tools and services.
Responsibilities as our Digital Learning Technologist will include:
- Support & Training: Provide training, guidance, and support to staff and students on the use of learning technologies, tools and platforms, including generative AI tools. Assist in the design, implementation, and delivery of online, blended, and face-to-face learning using educational technologies, including AI-driven content creation, personalized learning, and assessment tools.
- System Administration & Management: Administer and maintain the college's virtual learning environment (VLE) and other teaching platforms, ensuring they integrate effectively with AI tools. Support the use of AI tools for student performance analytics and learning behaviour insights, enabling data-driven decision-making for both staff and students.
- Research & Development: Keep up to date with the latest trends and innovations in education technologies. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to explore and pilot technologies that can enhance learning and teaching practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with academic teams, curriculum designers, and other stakeholders to ensure that learning technologies, including AI tools, meet curriculum and pedagogical needs. Participate in the development of the college's digital learning strategy, incorporating AI as a core component of the college's approach to enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes.
As our Digital Learning Technologist you'll ideally have:
- Proven experience working in a learning technologist, teaching a technical subject or similar role, ideally within a Higher Education or Further Education setting.
- Strong knowledge of virtual learning environments.
- Familiarity with digital tools and resources for online and blended learning.
- Understanding of pedagogical principles, particularly around the use of technology to support teaching and learning.
- Experience in creating accessible and inclusive digital content.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support staff at various levels of digital literacy.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
