A Tier 1 global private equity fund, founded in the United States and managing close to $50 billion in assets, is looking to add an Investment Associate to its Growth Equity team in London.
This is a demanding role within an exceptionally active investment team. The successful candidate must be prepared for a high-intensity working environment, long hours and multiple live workstreams. The team is actively deploying capital while simultaneously evaluating new opportunities and executing acquisitions for existing portfolio companies.
The role will suit someone who is genuinely hard-working, resilient under pressure and motivated by significant responsibility and a steep learning curve.
The team invests in high-growth data and business services companies, with a particular focus on:
- Data, information and technology-enabled services
- Wealth management and independent financial advisory businesses
- Insurance services and distribution

- Developing sector theses and mapping fragmented markets
- Supporting proprietary sourcing and direct engagement with business owners
- Building detailed financial and investment models

- Coordinating due diligence processes with external advisers
- Preparing investment committee materials
- Supporting transaction structuring, negotiation and execution
- Working closely with portfolio company management teams
- Assessing and executing bolt-on acquisitions
- Monitoring portfolio company performance and strategic initiatives
The Associate will receive substantial exposure to senior investment professionals, management teams, founders and external advisers. Given the teamβs current level of activity, the individual will be expected to contribute meaningfully from the outset.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate is likely to have:
- Approximately 4-6 years of relevant professional experience form Tier 1 IB
- Training from a leading investment bank, private equity fund or similarly rigorous transaction environment
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills
- Experience working on M&A transactions
- An excellent academic record
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
- Genuine interest in data and business services
- Interest in fragmented sectors where value can be created through buy-and-build strategies
Experience in wealth management, insurance, accounting, financial services or technology-enabled business services would be particularly relevant, although it is not essential.
Personal Characteristics
The team is looking for someone who is:
- Exceptionally hard-working and willing to work long hours when transactions require it
- Comfortable operating under pressure and managing competing priorities
- Highly organised, responsive and attentive to detail
- Commercially curious and able to develop an informed investment perspective
- Proactive and comfortable taking ownership
- Collaborative, low-ego and effective within a close-knit team
