Managing Director, M&A to originate, lead and execute complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions while further expanding long-term client relationships across the mid-market and large-cap corporate landscape.

The Role

As Managing Director, you will be responsible for driving business development, leading transaction execution and mentoring senior deal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate new M&A mandates through an established network of corporate clients, private equity sponsors and professional advisers.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with CEOs, CFOs, founders, boards and financial sponsors.
  • Lead the execution of complex sell-side, buy-side, mergers, carve-outs, strategic reviews and capital advisory assignments.
  • Provide strategic advice throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Lead negotiations alongside clients and counterparties.
  • Oversee valuation analysis, financial modelling, due diligence and transaction documentation.
  • Present investment opportunities and strategic recommendations to boards and investment committees.
  • Work closely with sector specialists and product teams including ECM, DCM, Leveraged Finance and Debt Advisory.
  • Mentor and develop Directors, Vice Presidents, Associates and Analysts.
  • Contribute to the firm's strategic growth initiatives and market positioning.

We are looking for an accomplished investment banker with an exceptional track record of originating and executing M&A transactions.

Requirements

  • Extensive Investment Banking experience with a leading global, international or boutique advisory firm.
  • Proven track record of originating and closing M&A transactions.
  • Strong network across corporates, entrepreneurs, private equity firms and financial sponsors.
  • Deep understanding of valuation methodologies, transaction structuring and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated leadership of complex cross-border transactions.
  • Strong commercial mindset with excellent business development capabilities.
  • Outstanding client management and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience leading and mentoring high-performing deal teams.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA or equivalent qualifications are advantageous.
  • Fluent English; additional European languages are beneficial.
