The firm is seeking an Investment Manager to join its Direct Lending platform. The role will focus on originating, underwriting, executing, and monitoring private credit investments, primarily senior secured and unitranche financings, across a diversified portfolio of middle-market borrowers. The successful candidate will work closely with senior investment professionals and contribute meaningfully across the full investment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Investment Origination & Execution
- Source and evaluate new direct lending investment opportunities, including senior secured, unitranche, and bespoke private credit structures.
- Lead financial analysis, credit underwriting, valuation, and structuring of transactions.
- Prepare investment memoranda and present recommendations to the investment committee.
- Coordinate due diligence processes with external advisors (legal, commercial, financial, ESG).
- Portfolio Management
- Monitor portfolio companies’ financial performance, covenant compliance, and credit quality.
- Manage ongoing borrower relationships, including amendments, waivers, and refinancings.
- Identify and proactively manage downside risk and restructuring scenarios where required.
- Market & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with private equity sponsors, management teams, intermediaries, and advisors.
- Contribute to origination strategy through market intelligence and sector research.
- Represent the firm in meetings with sponsors, borrowers, and co-investors.
- Platform Development
- Support the continued growth of the Direct Lending strategy through process improvement, sector specialization, and junior team mentoring.
- Contribute to fund-level analysis, reporting, and investor communications as required.
Candidate Profile
- Experience
- 5–9 years of relevant experience in direct lending, private credit, leveraged finance, or credit investing.
- Prior experience at a private credit fund, alternative asset manager, investment bank, or credit-focused institution.
- Demonstrated exposure to middle-market transactions and sponsor-backed financings.
- Technical Skills
- Strong financial modelling and credit analysis skills.
- Deep understanding of capital structures, loan documentation, and downside protection.
- Ability to independently assess risk-adjusted returns and structure investments accordingly.
- Personal Attributes
- Commercial mindset with strong judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a lean investment team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- CFA or equivalent qualification preferred but not required.
