Company Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Board of Directors to identify strategic business initiatives and drive improvements for a leading flooring and interior finishes contractor with six regional depots across England, supplying and installing directly into the new house build sector. Reporting to the Regional Managing Directors, you will lead the finance team in the delivery of a first-class finance service for the business. Your role will be fully accountable for the financial reporting of a group with over £35,000,000 revenue per annum and growing.
Key Duties & Responsibilities for our Finance Director:
- This role requires a confident, proactive, creative and driven Financial Director - you will review all work produced by your team, signing off draft management accounts, statutory accounts and tax computations;
- Accurate accounting of revenue, margin and analysis therein will play a fundamental role
- Preparation of board packs including variance analysis used to influence future results
- Review and manage accountancy strategies for the business offering best advice on financial planning and tax planning issues
- Advise on profitability of the business through implementing business controls and systems through direct engagement with our operational and commercial departments
- Provide hands on financial leadership across operations ensuring the business is well-positioned to execute its commercial objectives including ongoing FP&A
- Work closely with Commercial and Operations teams to identify and execute cost saving opportunities, improve margins and drive profitability
- Collaborate with senior management to analyse pricing strategies, contracts and financial modelling to support the company’s growth
- Manage working capital, cash flow forecasting and liquidity to ensure operational efficiency and profitability
- Direct engagement with clients in respect of solus/rebate deals and escalated debt recovery
- Adherence to all financial and legal obligations
- Lead, develop and motivate your team of staff, including the Finance Manager
Essential Skills and Experience Required for our Finance Director:
- A confident team player, with personality and drive to succeed
- A confident communicator with an ability to challenge and influence effectively to team members at all levels
- Significant, demonstrable proven experience in Financial Reporting & Analysis
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified, with a MINIMUM 5 years PQE and experience of working in a senior finance role within industry
- Commercial awareness of industry and supply chain procedures
- Confident with IT systems and an understanding of their relationship with financial processes
- Internal audit experience in industry
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 37.75 hours per week, office-based
