We are looking for a Maintenance Shift Engineer to join our Engineering team @ Broadwick Soho.

As a Shift Engineer at the Broadwick Soho, you will drive the idea of being a glorious hotel that embraces the spirit of Soho, alongside making our guests feel as comfortable as we do through our beliefs of being independent, embracing, generous and playfully exquisite.
In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems throughout the property. Working as part of the Engineering team, you will conduct routine inspections, respond promptly to guest and operational maintenance requests, and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to uphold the hotel's exceptional standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest service in a fast-paced luxury environment.
You will work with brilliant colleagues across the Hotel so that we are one team delivering a seamless and memorable guest experience.
Your Role:
- Conduct daily inspections of plant rooms, guest areas, and back-of-house facilities to ensure all systems are operating effectively.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems according to the hotel's maintenance schedule.
- Respond promptly to guest room and public area maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining the highest service standards.
- Diagnose and repair faults in equipment and systems including lighting, air conditioning, water systems, elevators, and fire safety systems.
- Log all maintenance activities accurately in the shift handover and maintenance management system.
- Assist with contractor supervision and ensure that all work carried out by third parties complies with hotel standards and health & safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and company health & safety policies, including fire safety checks and equipment testing.
- Provide engineering support during special events, ensuring all technical setups are in place and functioning.
What do we need from you?
- Previous experience as a shift engineer in a luxury hotel environment is essential
- NVQ Level 2 Electrical, mechanical, HVAC or plumbing is preferable and not essential
- You work well under pressure, are a multi-tasker and prioritise effectively
- You always look for ways to improve things and you have plenty of initiative
- You are flexible to be able to work evenings and some weekends if necessary so we can deliver exceptional service to our guests
- You work well with a team who are passionate, creative and have exceptional attention to detail
