About the role
We are seeking a Junior Urban Computational Designer on a fixed term basis to develop and troubleshoot computational tools and scripts. In this role, you will deliver, design and model solutions to optimise complex architecture and masterplanning workflows as a key member of our project team.
What you’ll be doing
- Undertake responsibilities as directed by the Computational Urban Designer
- Contribute to ongoing computational developments by creating low-code and visual programming-based solutions to optimise complex architectural and engineering workflows.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams to identify computational opportunities and ensure the effective delivery of project work.
- Provide technical training and support on the use of computational tools and scripts across the team.
- Assist in defining and integrating long-term computational design developments into ongoing projects.
- Research, document, and deliver innovative computational methods and design workflow solutions.
- Actively review emerging technologies and industry-wide computational design applications to identify new development opportunities.
- Assist project teams with automating documentation processes and integrating workflows.
- Deliver clear presentations of your work related to computational workflows.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who brings:
- A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a focus on computational design.
- Ideally, 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Familiarity with identifying and implementing emerging technologies into Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) delivery methods.
- Demonstrated experience using most (or a selection) of the following coding languages: Revit API, Dynamo, Grasshopper, C#, Python, C++, JavaScript, and SQL.
- Proficiency as a user in one or more primary design deliverables applications, such as Revit, Civil 3D, Rhino, or ArcGIS.
