Job Description
Regional Finance Director – Up to £140,000 base + £10K car allowance + high bonus – Southwest London
Our client, a FTSE 100 housebuilder, is seeking to recruit an experienced housebuilding finance professional seeking a new challenge. Previous residential development sector experience is an essential requirement.
Main responsibilities:
- Support MD in appraising proposals and opportunities
- Act as a commercial partner to the Regional MD, supporting all aspects of management and leadership of the region, acting as a deputy
- Contribute to investment appraisal for all land purchases
- Oversee preparation of monthly management accounts and associated financial analysis
- Direct and review the budgeting and forecasting process for the region
- Responsible for all aspects of cash management and forecasting within the Region
- Develop, control, and implement strategies which enable effective financial control and management over the region and involvement in the improvement of financial process across the Group
- Ownership of Regional 3-Year Plan
- Responsibility for land viabilities after the land has been acquired to monitor and report on any changes to the key assumptions made at acquisition
- Control general overheads, including the process of order and invoice authorisation within the region
- Provide clear leadership, direction and motivation of staff within the department to ensure that work programmes are fulfilled in accordance with the Region's budgets/forecasts
- Contribute effectively to the running of the region through membership of the regional Board
- Attend regional Management Team/Board meetings to advise on financial and commercial issues.
- Attend and be a key contributor to monthly CVR meetings to ensure adherence to our policies and processes and critical review of value and cost to complete assumptions.
- Management of JV relationships, agreements, and financial commitments, adhering to governance within the JV and preparation of stat accounts
Your background:
- Significant housebuilding industry experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA ACMA / ACCA) or equivalent
- Keen awareness of key financial and non-financial metrics within the housebuilding sector
- Leads from the front, enjoys development of people and team
- Strong commercial acumen
