Broadsheet Media is looking for a digital storyteller to lead our social content and email communications. You will be responsible for creating, editing and publishing compelling content that grows our UK audience and strengthens engagement across our platforms.
This role is a rare opportunity to help define the digital voice of a trusted and influential media brand as it launches in a new market, playing a vital part in how Broadsheet London connects with its audience online.
About the Job
Reporting to the London Editor, you will be the voice of the brand online, writing snappy, charismatic copy that is entertaining, accurate and distinctly "Broadsheet". This is a hands-on, multi-faceted role where you will manage daily social scheduling, craft high-performing newsletters, and work on low-fi short-form video content. You will use data and analytics to inform your decisions, helping to drive performance in a fast-paced digital publishing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Social Media Creation & Publishing: Write accurate, entertaining and engaging copy across Instagram, TikTok and other platforms. You will select strong imagery, schedule posts, and ensure all content is optimised for the specific platform.
- Newsletter Production: Own the end-to-end process of writing, editing and sending Broadsheet newsletters. You will craft subject lines and copy that drive opens and clicks, while ensuring the tone is perfectly on-brand.
- Short-Form Video: Film, script and edit low-fi short-form videos (e.g., Reels, TikToks) and support the commissioning of social-first video content.
- Community Engagement: Monitor social platforms, tag partners and talent appropriately, and interact with the audience to represent the Broadsheet brand online.
- Analytics & Insights: Use platforms like Sprout and Braze to track performance, share insights with the team, and adjust content approaches based on data trends.
- Audience Growth: Collaborate with editors to optimise headlines and angles, bringing proactive ideas to the table that drive engagement and retention.
Who You Are
You are a digital native with excellent short-copy skills and a knack for capturing a brand's personality in a caption or subject line. Analytically minded, you are highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work calmly under pressure to meet rolling deadlines. You have a genuine passion for city life — food, culture, fashion, and the arts — and you understand how audiences interact with these topics online. You are enthusiastic about exploring platform trends and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Key Attributes
- Copywriting: Excellent short-copy skills, with the ability to write snappy, engaging and personality-filled social and newsletter copy.
- Platform Expertise: Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram and TikTok) and experience with scheduling tools.
- Video Skills: Experience producing or editing short-form video within apps (e.g., Instagram Reels, TikTok, CapCut) is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience using email platforms (e.g., Braze) to build, test and send newsletters is a bonus.
- Cultural Insight: A deep understanding of Broadsheet's tone and a passion for food, culture, design, arts and city life.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret analytics and apply insights to improve content performance.
