An exciting opportunity to play a role in the development and management of the very successful Whitlingham Country Park on the edge of Norwich. The Park is adored by city folk and countryside lovers alike, offering a beautiful, tranquil escape to explore the broads, woodlands and meadows or to just relax.

The Whitlingham Charitable Trust was established in 1988 to manage and conserve Whitlingham Country Park for the recreation and enjoyment of members of the public who wish to enjoy its amenities for quiet and peaceful pursuits in a rural environment.

In collaboration with the Whitlingham Charitable Trust, the Broads Authority is looking to appoint one trustee to the Board of The Whitlingham Charitable Trust. Whilst the trustees meet formally four times a year, further input may be required from time to time. Part of the role will be to assist delivery of the Trust’s Strategic Plan, and the Trustees are specifically looking for candidates with relevant skills and experience in marketing and fundraising.

Any successful candidate must be able to work in a team and operate at Board level. To be eligible, you must be 18 or over and not disqualified by law from acting as a charity trustee. For further information, please see the disqualification rules on the UK Government website.

This position is not a paid role, but you can claim reasonable expenses as a Trustee. Further information on what’s involved in being a Trustee is available on the UK Government website. Information on the Trust is available at Companies House and the Charity Commission.
