We are seeking a seasoned leader for our Bank and Broker Dealer International (BBDI) team. The primary purpose of the role will be to oversee operations, with a focus on optimisation and driving efficiency. The successful candidate must have a strong and successful background leading multi-locational operational and highly matrixed teams – working in coordination and collaboration with multiple business stakeholders, including shared service functions and clients.
Responsibilities
- Executive Leadership Team Member of the BBDI ELT with ownership of all direct and matrixed operations
- Deliver against business operational expense and risk strategic objectives
- Set internal department SLAs and KPI and ensuring adherence
- Provide operational support where required to internal sales and support functions
- Provide meaningful operational qualitative and quantitative executive reporting to GM
- Own, provide direction and oversee all BBDI operational governance forums
- Test and provide executive sign-off for all operational related change
- Maintain a culture of transformation for operations by improving automation opportunities to scale the business
- Oversee and direct outsourced operations; work closely with relevant senior leaders to drive service delivery excellence across end-to-end processes and platforms
- Ensure the organization meets and exceeds financial goals; work in partnership with supporting functions to identify opportunities and optimise operational expenses
- Implement robust internal controls and compliance procedures to ensure operational integrity and regulatory compliance
- Ensure that the compliance environment can rapidly adapt to the continually changing client and market needs
- Identify operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
- Own operational risk register and oversee DR/BCP
- Act as BBDI BISO and coordinate with corporate risk, internal and external audit teams as and when required
People management
- Lead, direct and set objectives to all direct and matrixed operational functions
- Build talent development and retention programs; implement succession planning for key roles; create dynamic diverse teams
- Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to corp policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices
- Create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
- Own, manage and report issues
- Promote transparency and effectively supervise the activity of others to do the same
Your profile
- Have a broad knowledge and proven expertise in the following areas:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels in a matrixed environment
- In depth understanding of global and local custody eco systems related to Proxy and or Asset Services
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role involving global highly matrixed teams
- Proven ability to manage and execute large operational offshoring projects
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- University honors degree preferred
- Professional finance, legal and or regulatory qualifications desirable
