Broadridge is seeking a Head of International Procurement who will serve as an active leader, regularly engaging with executives across Europe and Asia Pacific to understand their priorities and help to deliver results aligned to their success. You will be expected to be hands-on and demonstrate decisioning frameworks which consider ROI, trade-offs, cycle time and quality, risk mitigation, and sustainability. The ideal candidate is well versed in sales techniques and comfortable leading negotiations across large commercial deals, adept at balancing and aligning partner needs with deal economics and near-and-longer-term organizational priorities. You must possess legal and commercial knowledge including an understanding of the products and services for smooth operation, procurement management tools, and buy-side dynamics within the company environment (highly matrixed, multi-product, global footprint).
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate efforts and work very closely with all the functional leaders of the Global Procurement organization and implement consistent and standard processes and policies, and adopted tools.
- Act as a strategic partner to business unit heads (e.g. HR, Legal, IT, Marketing) to understand their business needs, project pipelines and budgets providing clear recommendations which are grounded in strong financial and operational criteria.
- Evolve the International procurement function from ad hoc reactive and mostly operationally centric into a strategic function, being a business advisor and leader with vision, driving decisions through centralized sourcing, and procurement efforts.
- Partner with various departments to review, draft and negotiate vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Serve as a Strategic Sourcing Group ambassador across the International organization by acting as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all procurement matters, providing strategic guidance and expertise across the organization.
- Define and implement category strategies across 3 segments (local, regional and global) including identifying areas of vendor concentration risk and opportunities for consolidation as well as providing market insights.
- Define annual targets, continuous improvement projects, contract bidding and negotiation practices, and measure the competitiveness of programs against applicable benchmarks.
- Drive an inclusive culture of ongoing continuous improvement, productivity and innovation that fosters a highly engaged procurement team.
- Support the development of a culture that attracts, rewards and promotes high quality deliverables and excellent customer service.
- Work closely with Management to identify performance issues and continuously implement programs to upgrade technical, business and interpersonal skills.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders across the International space, providing them with accurate information on active and upcoming projects, value creation and spend across the geographies.
- Work with the broader Strategic Sourcing Group leaders reporting to the CPO, ensuring alignment of International to the broader global strategic direction of the function.
- Keep Source-to-Pay management informed of all work in progress and major issues.
- Manage and mentor a small team of junior buyers, ensuring collaboration across the multiple geographies, and with the broader global Strategic Sourcing team.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Leadership experience in Sourcing and business operations experience, including global sourcing and procurement principles.
- Strong experience in IT contracts.
- Strong experience in procurement business process re-engineering.
- Prior experience working with cross-geographical teams, including India, Europe and APAC.
- Leadership experience in negotiations strategies and oversight of Procurement programs for a wide variety of products and services.
- Proven ability to influence and enhance processes across business lines.
- Ability to build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical skills including the ability to present business cases to drive stakeholder engagement and endorsement and process improvement.
- Strong experience utilizing best practices to lead and manage major corporate cost reduction initiatives and process improvement programs.
Technical and functional skills:
- Extensive experience partnering across multiple constituents and geographies and well versed in the language of business (Fin-tech or supplier-side experience a plus).
- In-depth knowledge of Procure-to-Pay lifecycle processes, including Supplier Risk Management, Contracting, Procurement Operations, and Payment.
- Deep understanding of the supply chain and implications and alignment to free cash flow, balance sheet, P&L, objectives.
- Excellent analytical, financial, project management and relationship skills.
- Outstanding ability to breakdown complex ideas and ambiguous situations into understandable and meaningful messages.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to influence stakeholders.
Leadership skills:
- Accomplished people leader with a consistent record of high performance, financial and operational oversight.
