Marine Engineer South Cornwall
Location: South Cornwall
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hourly Rate: Approx. £16.00 per hour (currently under review)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am 4:30pm (40 hours/week)

This hands-on role is ideal for someone experienced with marine mechanical systems up to 1000hp who enjoys working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical engineering on a range of boats (up to 1000hp)

  • Interact with clients on-site, promoting services and upholding high professional standards

  • Work effectively as part of a skilled team to deliver quality and efficiency across projects

  • Support continuous improvement and business development through input and feedback

  • Maintain and promote high standards of health and safety at all times

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven and current experience as a marine mechanical engineer

  • Strong understanding of marine engines and systems up to 1000hp

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Strong teamworking and communication skills

  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations in a marine environment

Desirable:

  • Experience with marine electrical systems

  • Customer-facing experience or training

Whats on Offer

  • Approx. £16.00 per hour (subject to review)

  • 40-hour week: Monday to Friday, 8:00am4:30pm, with hour lunch break

  • Overtime paid at 1.5x standard rate

  • 21 days holiday plus all Bank Holidays

  • Accident insurance (75% of salary for up to 2 years, applicable at home or work)
