Thermal Insulation Engineer / Lagger Long-Term Contracts

Rate:£25.00£26.00 per hour, dependent on experience
Duration: Up to 12 months+, depending on project
Security Clearance: BPSS or SC Clearance required depending on site
The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting experiencedThermal Insulation Engineers / Laggersfor two major projects across the South West.
We have opportunities available in bothNewton Abbot and Newquay, offering consistent contract work with an established client. The work will predominantly involveHVAC, heating and mechanical services insulation, making these positions particularly suited to Laggers with experience across commercial, industrial or large-scale projects.
TheNewton Abbot projectis currently expected to run through to theend of November, while theNewquay project is at the beginning of the programme of works and is expected to run for approximately 12 months, with potential to continue beyond this.
The Role
Depending on the project, typical duties will include:
- Carrying outHVAC / H&V lagging and thermal insulation
- Insulatingheating installations, pipework and mechanical services
- Measuring, cutting and fitting insulation materials
- Installing protective finishes and cladding
- Cladding work below 2 metreson the Newton Abbot project
- Working from drawings, measurements and site specifications
- Making good and repairing insulation where required
- Ensuring all installations are completed accurately and to specification
- Working alongside pipefitters, mechanical engineers and other site trades
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and workmanship
What We're Looking For
Candidates should have:
- Previous experience as aLagger / Thermal Insulation Engineer
- Experience withHVAC/H&V, heating or pipework insulation
- Experience with cladding/protective finishes
- ValidCSCS card or relevant trade certification
- Experience within commercial, industrial or large-scale projects
- Good understanding of site health and safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- Good attention to detail and standard of finish
Security Clearance
Both projects are based withinsecure environments, so security clearance is an essential part of the recruitment process.
Newton Abbot BPSS Clearance
Candidates will need to meet the requiredBPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard)vetting requirements before commencing work.
Newquay SC Clearance
Candidates will need to meet the requirements forSC (Security Check) Clearance. Those who already hold active SC Clearance would be particularly advantageous, although candidates who are eligible and willing to complete the required vetting process will also be considered, subject to the client's requirements.
Project Details
Newton Abbot:
The contract is expected to run through to theend of November. Site operates between7:00am and 6:00pm, although the client generally likes contractors finished and off site by around5:00pm. Work is currently MondayFriday, withSaturday work available during September. The work is mainlyHVAC/H&V lagging with cladding below 2 metres.
Newquay:
This is along-term project at the beginning of the programme of works, with approximately12 months of work initially and the possibility of continuing beyond this. The work will predominantly focus onHVAC, heating installations, pipework and associated mechanical services insulation.
