Overview:
Our client, a high-end timber manufacturer near Newark-on-Trent, is seeking an experienced and detail-focusedHand Finisherto join their workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong eye for craftsmanship and a passion for delivering exceptional surface finishes on bespoke timber products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare timber surfaces through sanding, filling, and other preparatory techniques.
- Apply a range ofnon-spray finishes, including water-based stains, oils, and waxes, usinghand methods such as ragging, brushing, or rolling.
- Work with premium finishing products such asOsmo, Mylands, and Blanchon.
- Inspect finished pieces for consistency, colour accuracy, and surface quality, making refinements as needed.
- Maintain a clean and well-organised finishing area.
- Collaborate closely with the workshop team to ensure seamless workflow from preparation to finishing.
- Assist in selecting the most suitable finishes and application methods for each project.
- Follow all relevant health and safety procedures, especially in relation to product handling and ventilation.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience inhand-applied wood finishing techniqueswithin a workshop or production environment.
