A well-established specialist vehicle operator is seeking an experienced Senior LCV Technician or Master Technician to join its workshop team in Kidlington. Operating a premium fleet of light commercial vehicles that travel throughout the UK and Europe, this business prides itself on maintaining exceptionally high mechanical, safety and presentation standards. The Role
- Working within a professional workshop environment, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a fleet of predominantly Mercedes-Benz light commercial vehicles.
- Key duties will include:
- Servicing, inspections and repairs to manufacturer and DVSA standards
- Advanced fault-finding across mechanical, electrical and CAN-bus systems
- Using diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify complex issues
- Preparing vehicles for MOT testing
- Investigating recurring faults and implementing permanent solutions
- Completing maintenance records and workshop documentation
- Ordering parts and coordinating repairs
- Road testing vehicles following repairs
- Supporting workshop improvements and maintenance procedures
- Mentoring junior technicians where appropriate
- Maintaining a safe, organised and professional workshop environment
About You
- Essential
- Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Minimum 5 years' experience maintaining Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience working on Mercedes-Benz Sprinters or similar LCV platforms
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Highly Desirable
- Manufacturer Master Technician accreditation
- IRTEC qualification
- MOT Tester qualification (Class 4 and/or 7)
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Fleet maintenance experience
