Princess Yachts is seeking a highly experienced Head of Facilities to provide senior leadership across our Plymouth sites, setting direction for operational delivery, compliance, long-term asset planning, and major capital projects in support of the company’s strategic growth.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Facilities Management
  • Provide strong leadership to the Facilities Department, setting clear objectives aligned to the business roadmap
  • Plan, manage, and deliver facilities works, including commissioning activities, using both in-house teams and approved contractors (Contractor Control)
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and building regulations
  • Maintain Facilities compliance within Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems, supporting ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification
  • Manage emergency facilities response and escalation processes
  • Oversee maintenance operations across all company buildings, utilities, and infrastructure
  • Support the long-term utilities strategy and maintenance and replacement programmes for buildings and machinery
  • Lead and manage major facilities and estate projects in support of business development objectives
  • Work collaboratively with key departments to prioritise and resolve critical production-related facilities issues
  • Build strong relationships with the Senior Management Team to ensure effective communication and aligned escalation routes
  • Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the Facilities team through coaching, mentoring, and training
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Create a positive working environment that encourages collaboration and high performance
  • Reporting & Governance
  • Prepare monthly and annual reports in line with business requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, compliance, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Keep senior management informed of emerging risks, issues, and improvement opportunities
  • Ensure alignment with HS&E requirements for all maintenance and planned works
  • Budget Management
  • Produce, manage, and control the Facilities Department operating budgets
  • Work closely with Finance to plan and implement annual operating plans and budget requirements

What we’re looking for

Qualifications

  • A recognised Facilities Management qualification or a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior Facilities role
  • Technical qualification to HNC level or above in a related discipline
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e. g. IOSH, IWFM)
  • Project or Programme Management qualification (e. g. APM, PRINCE2) – desirable
  • Evidence of continued professional development (CPD)
  • Demonstrable experience working within CDM regulations

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in Facilities Management with a strong compliance track record
  • Experience managing large, complex estates and property portfolios
  • Strong knowledge of estates, facilities, and relevant regulatory standards
  • Experience delivering major capital development programmes
  • Confident and effective leader with strong people management skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and lead decisively
  • Proven experience managing third-party suppliers and contracts
