An established luxury furniture and interiors business is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join its production team in Chelsea. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their project management career who has a good understanding of furniture construction and manufacturing. You may have gained this knowledge through hands-on workshop experience, a furniture-related degree or an early-career role within the industry.
Working alongside experienced project managers, you will help coordinate multiple bespoke furniture projects from initial planning through to manufacture, delivery and aftercare.
Responsibilities- Assist with the management of multiple bespoke furniture projects
- Produce basic project costings, budgets and timelines
- Review supplier and manufacturer drawings and specifications
- Monitor suppliers, manufacturers, costs and project progress
- Attend internal, supplier and project meetings
- Liaise with designers, sales teams, workshops and clients
- Visit workshops and client properties to review work
- Help coordinate furniture deliveries and installations
- Support the management of aftersales requirements
- Ensure project information is accurate and kept up to date
- A good understanding of furniture making, construction or manufacturing
- Able to interpret AutoCAD or other technical drawings
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicating with colleagues, suppliers and clients
- Commercially aware and comfortable working with costs and deadlines
- Proactive, dependable and willing to take ownership
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Keen to develop into a Project Manager
Previous project management experience is not essential.
