An established and highly respected marine engineering business is looking to recruit an experienced Marine Engineer to join its team based in Cookham-on-Thames.
With decades of expertise supporting the marine industry, the company specialises in servicing, repairs, diagnostics and maintenance for a wide range of boats and marine engines.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer who enjoys fault‑finding, working on premium marine engines and delivering exceptional workmanship both in the workshop and on customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical and electrical servicing, repairs and maintenance on boats and marine engines.
- Diagnose faults and determine the root cause of operational issues.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Order replacement parts and complete repairs efficiently.
- Work both in the workshop and at customer locations.
- Support the Marine Engineer Supervisor with additional engineering duties as required.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
About You
- Previous mechanical or engineering experience (essential).
- Marine engineering experience (preferred).
- Experience working on Volvo Penta and/or Yanmar marine engines is highly desirable.
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- A practical, methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
- GCSEs (or equivalent).
- A full UK driving licence (essential).
