An established and highly respected marine engineering business is looking to recruit an experienced Marine Engineer to join its team based in Cookham-on-Thames.

With decades of expertise supporting the marine industry, the company specialises in servicing, repairs, diagnostics and maintenance for a wide range of boats and marine engines.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer who enjoys fault‑finding, working on premium marine engines and delivering exceptional workmanship both in the workshop and on customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical and electrical servicing, repairs and maintenance on boats and marine engines.
  • Diagnose faults and determine the root cause of operational issues.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Order replacement parts and complete repairs efficiently.
  • Work both in the workshop and at customer locations.
  • Support the Marine Engineer Supervisor with additional engineering duties as required.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

About You

  • Previous mechanical or engineering experience (essential).
  • Marine engineering experience (preferred).
  • Experience working on Volvo Penta and/or Yanmar marine engines is highly desirable.
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • A practical, methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent).
  • A full UK driving licence (essential).
