The Opportunity:
Our client is a specialist manufacturer delivering high-end, bespoke interior fit-outs for marine and special purpose vehicles, working to exacting standards for clients across creative, production and specialist transport sectors.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Outfitting Manager to take full ownership of workshop operations and lead the outfitting team across complex, high-quality interior build projects.
The Role:
As Outfitting Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the workshop and the successful delivery of interior outfitting projects. You will lead a skilled team of tradespeople, coordinate workflow, and ensure each project is completed to a consistently high standard, on schedule and within budget.
This role suits someone who enjoys combining hands-on technical understanding with leadership, planning and problem-solving, and who takes pride in setting and maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and support workshop staff across multiple outfitting projects
- Plan and coordinate workflow to maximise productivity and meet delivery deadlines
- Maintain exceptional standards of workmanship and quality control
- Oversee stock control, materials procurement and supplier relationships
- Provide technical guidance and resolve issues during build and installation stages
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations and procedures
- Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and external stakeholders as required
- Maintain accurate project records, reports and workshop documentation
- Conduct performance reviews and support training and skills development
- Promote a positive, professional and safety-focused working environment
About You:
You will be an experienced workshop or outfitting leader with a strong technical background and the ability to manage people, processes and priorities in a fast-paced build environment.
Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in a workshop management, supervisory or outfitting role
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple projects concurrently
- Practical, solutions-focused approach with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable with IT systems and administrative responsibilities
- Background in marine outfitting, specialist vehicle builds, yacht interiors, or similar high-spec environments (desirable but not essential)
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications (advantageous but not essential)
