An opportunity to champion inclusion, maintain high standards, and create a calm, supportive environment for student success. Broadoak Academy is introducing a new and exciting role: Inclusion Supervisor, responsible for managing the Behaviour Room. This supportive space is designed to help students regulate, reflect and reintegrate into learning.
In this role, the supervisor manages student behaviour, tracks attendance, ensures all students are present when they should be, and maintains a quiet, calm environment that allows students to work productively. Working as part of a cohesive team, you will uphold expectations, maintain the quality and consistency of provision, accurately register attendance, and communicate clearly with colleagues to support reintegration, monitor progress and keep everyone informed of student needs. The role is central to promoting equity, supporting vulnerable learners and embedding high expectations across the academy.
We are seeking a calm, proactive and resilient individual with strong behaviour management experience within a school environment.
About the role:
- Lead the day‑to‑day running of the Behaviour Room, maintaining a calm, orderly and purposeful environment where students can reflect, regulate and engage in meaningful learning activities.
- Guide students in understanding behaviour incidents and support them in making positive choices, while ensuring accurate attendance registration and keeping up‑to‑date records of student entry, exit and support needs.
- Support positive behaviour, regulation and reflection by providing consistent boundaries, structure and emotional support to help students re‑regulate and return to lessons ready to learn.
- Use agreed behaviour strategies and restorative approaches to promote accountability and positive relationships, supporting students with SEMH, SEND and behaviour‑related barriers to learning.
- Deliver high‑quality student support by working with students 1:1 and in small groups to promote positive behaviour, improve engagement and develop emotional resilience.
- Support academic tasks where required, ensuring students’ learning continues during their time in the Reset Room.
About you:
- Caring, empathetic and committed to supporting young people to succeed.
- Emotionally intelligent and resilient, able to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- An effective communicator who can adapt your communication style to suit different audiences, including students, staff and families.
- Skilled in motivating and encouraging young people, with strong behaviour management capabilities.
- Organised and professional, able to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
- Committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and the wellbeing of all students.
You will have:
- Good literacy and numeracy (GCSE English and Maths or equivalent).
- Experience working with young people – preferably in a secondary school setting.
- Proven behaviour management experience within a school environment.
- Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH or behaviour needs.
- Understanding of child development, barriers to learning and effective inclusion practices.
- Strong ICT skills and confidence using school systems to record and interpret information.
- The ability to work flexibly and calmly in a fast‑paced environment.
What we can offer you:
- Access to a generous pension through the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
- Generous annual leave.
- A comprehensive induction and ongoing commitment to wellbeing and career progression, through a range of training, apprenticeships and in‑role/wider‑trust development opportunities.
- Well‑being support through an Employee Assistance Programme.
- Health benefits, including wellness sessions, gym discounts, and flu jabs.
- Generous family leave options, including above industry average occupational maternity pay.
- Additional benefits such as cycle to work scheme, on‑site parking and many more.
