Your opportunity to play a key role in promoting a culture of safeguarding and ensuring every child feels safe, supported and able to thrive: The Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead will support the academy in ensuring safeguarding and child protection practices are implemented in line with statutory requirements. The postholder will support the development and delivery of safeguarding policies, guidance, training and procedures, whilst working closely with academy leaders, staff, external agencies, parents/carers and students to promote a strong culture of safeguarding. The role includes supporting safeguarding case management, providing advice and guidance to staff, contributing to safeguarding training, monitoring vulnerable students, and maintaining accurate safeguarding records and reporting processes.
About you: You will have:
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection legislation, guidance and best practice.
- Experience working with children and young people, including multi‑agency partnership working.
- The ability to interpret policies and procedures and provide professional safeguarding advice.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, families and external agencies.
- Strong organisational, analytical and record‑keeping skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience using safeguarding systems and data to support effective decision‑making and positive outcomes for students.
- The ability to deliver guidance, support and training to colleagues.
- Emotional resilience, professionalism and a commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and continuous improvement.
- Advanced safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake training) and the ability to travel between sites where required.
