The predicted salary is between 25000 - 30000 £ per year.

We are looking for either an experienced Laboratory Technician or an individual who has a keen interest in science and is willing to learn, as full training can be given. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager and, as part of a team of 6 Technicians, you will carry out routine laboratory analysis of alcoholic products and raw materials (chemical, microbiological and physical) collecting and preparing samples, documenting results, completing paperwork to BRC (British Retail Consortium) standards and working closely with other departments within the Winery. We are looking for an innovative, forward-thinking individual to complement the existing laboratory team.

The key skills and competencies required are:

  • A scientific interest.
  • Excellent team-working/communication skills; professional and flexible approach to tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and develop.
  • Excellent record keeping showing high work standards, accuracy and attention to detail with a strong quantitative and data focus.
  • Interpersonal skills to work between departments.
  • Good IT skills and experience of MS Office and database systems.

It would be desirable but not essential to demonstrate the following:

  • Qualified to A-level standard in a scientific subject or at least 2 years relevant laboratory experience.
  • Previous experience within a laboratory in the food or beverage industry.
  • Experience and knowledge of SAGE or similar ERP system.
  • An interest in wine and the drinks industry.
