Private Client Tax Senior Manager | Leeds | Hybrid
I'm working on an excellent opportunity for a Private Client Tax Senior Manager to join a growing and well-established team in Leeds — and what really sets this role apart is the career progression on offer.
This is a firm that has deliberately invested in technology and automation to take away much of the administrative burden, allowing senior professionals to spend more time doing what they do best: managing clients, building relationships and developing their teams. Most importantly, progression here doesn't mean being pushed away from the work you enjoy. There is a proven route to Director level within Compliance, giving you the opportunity to progress your career while remaining close to clients and technically focused.
What you'll be doing
- You’ll take ownership of a substantial and varied private client portfolio, overseeing complex compliance work across areas including Income Tax, Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Estate Tax matters.
- You’ll act as a senior point of contact for clients, attending meetings, providing technical guidance and developing long-term relationships. There will also be opportunities to contribute to advisory work where it naturally arises from your client portfolio.
- Alongside your client responsibilities, you’ll play an important role in mentoring and developing junior team members, with the potential for line management responsibility as you establish yourself within the team.
- There is also genuine scope to become involved in business development, referrals and wider team growth, giving you the opportunity to make a visible impact as the practice continues to expand.
What they're looking for
- Fully tax qualified — CTA preferred, ATT considered depending on experience
- Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience
- Experience managing your own portfolio and client relationships
- Confident dealing directly with clients and providing technical guidance
- A collaborative approach and genuine interest in developing others
- Commercially minded with an interest in contributing to business development
Why consider it?
- Career progression: A genuine and established route to Director level without having to leave Compliance behind.
- More time with clients: Significant investment in technology and automation means less time spent on manual administration and more time focused on high-value work.
- Real responsibility: Manage your own portfolio, build relationships and have a visible impact on the continued growth of the team.
- Collaborative culture: A supportive, nationally connected team where people work together rather than competing against each other.
- Flexibility: Hybrid working from the Leeds office, alongside a role that offers autonomy and trust.
If you're a Senior Private Client Tax professional who is ready for more responsibility, greater visibility and a clear path towards Director, this could be a very interesting next step.
