An exciting opportunity to join a growing and ambitious Business Services team. We’re recruiting on behalf of a highly successful and rapidly expanding professional services firm seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join its Business Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with clients, solving complex business challenges, and providing strategic financial insight.

The role offers a broad mix of financial reporting, management accounting, forecasting, business advisory, and client relationship management responsibilities. You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, helping them gain clarity over their financial performance while supporting key business decisions and future growth.

As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of accounting and finance services to clients while supporting and developing junior team members. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing management accounts and financial reports
  • Producing and reviewing statutory financial statements
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Liaising with external auditors and managing audit processes
  • Preparing cash flow forecasts, budgets, and financial models
  • Supporting clients with business planning and strategic decision-making
  • Delivering ad-hoc projects and financial analysis as required
  • Managing your own portfolio and ensuring exceptional client service delivery
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior team members
  • Working collaboratively across the wider business to deliver value-added solutions
  • Identifying opportunities to support clients with additional services and solutions

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential Experience
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent)
  • Experience gained within practice, industry, or a combination of both
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
  • Experience preparing management accounts and financial analysis
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Desirable Experience
  • Experience working with cloud-based accounting platforms
  • Exposure to outsourced finance, virtual FD/CFO, or business advisory services
  • Experience implementing technology-driven finance solutions
