Our lawyers work closely with clients to provide clear, commercially focused advice and to build long-term trusted relationships.
The Commercial team advises clients on a wide range of commercial agreements. The team supports clients across a range of sectors including technology, life sciences and healthcare, hospitality, financial services, and defence and security. Our lawyers advise on commercial agreements and data protection compliance matters. They also work closely with the firm’s Corporate and Private Equity teams advising on the commercial intellectual property and data protection aspects of corporate transactions.
Broadfield is seeking to recruit two junior commercial lawyers (1–3 years PQE) to support the continued growth of the Commercial team. The role will involve working closely with partners and senior lawyers across the Commercial and Corporate teams, supporting both advisory work and the team’s involvement in the corporate transactions. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with a range of clients from high growth businesses to private equity backed companies and established international organisations.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating all manner of commercial agreements including supply agreements, distribution agreements, licensing agreements and consultancy agreements.
- Advising on IT and technology related contracts including software licensing, SaaS and cloud-based arrangements.
- Advising on data protection and drafting data protection compliance documentation.
- Assisting on intellectual property matters.
- Supporting private equity transactions and corporate deals through commercial due diligence, contract review and data protection and intellectual property due diligence.
- Assisting with the preparation of client advice.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm including corporate, private equity, public law and litigation teams.
Candidate Requirements
- 1–3 years PQE in commercial contracts, technology or related commercial work.
- Experience in data protection also preferred.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
- The ability to manage workstreams and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills; and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience in sectors such as life sciences and healthcare, financial services, or defence and security would be advantageous but is not essential.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers and will have the opportunity to develop their expertise across a wide range of commercial matters.
