We are looking for a bright and organised professional to join as an Underwriter, working with our Head of Underwriting on a range of new business proposals, portfolio compliance work, and product development for their range of digital-first insurance lines. As we continue to scale, you will contribute to disciplined, repeatable processes that support regulatory compliance and effective product oversight. We are a fast-moving business where data and clarity meet, and we need someone who can help us maintain operational excellence while we grow.
This role requires a blend of technical writing and cross-functional coordination, ensuring that underwriting documentation accurately reflects approved designs and is ready for implementation by our operations and technology teams. Working directly with our Head of Underwriting, you will maintain version control, track review milestones, and identify gaps in our documentation to keep our standards high and auditable. This is an ideal role for someone interested in how insurance products are built, and looking to progress into Senior Product Development or Portfolio Underwriting.
Responsibilities
- Support underwriting input into new schemes and changes while drafting policy wordings, underwriting rules, and eligibility criteria.
- Support inbound underwriting submissions.
- Maintain POG artefacts, including product approvals, reviews, and fair value assessments across the product lifecycle.
- Maintain clear records of decision points and support the implementation of underwriting changes into our technology stack.
- Align underwriting inputs with compliance, operations, and tech teams to ensure full readiness for product launches.
- Help refine templates and controls as our product set scales, ensuring consistent and auditable standards.
- Act as a point of contact for internal and external queries regarding product structure or technical documentation.
Required Skills
- Experience in underwriting or insurance operations within an MGA, insurer, or similar intermediary.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working with complex policy wordings or underwriting manuals.
- Understanding of regulated insurance products and governance requirements, specifically POG or PROD processes.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accurate, version-controlled records.
Preferred Skills
- Fluent in friendly, informative chats and smart solutions.
- You are structured, detail-focused, and comfortable in a "scale-up" environment where processes are constantly evolving.
- You are collaborative and proactive, with a genuine interest in how insurance products are built and governed.
We're looking for genuine, intelligent team players to join us as we rapidly grow this year. If you're up for the challenge of learning and delivering complex solutions at pace, this could be the place for you.
