Our client is a modern, technology-enabled insurance MGA looking for an innovative thinker to help develop niche insurance products that meet the changing needs of partners. They specialise in data-centric risk intelligence and are building something that will revolutionise the construction insurance space.

Reporting directly to our Underwriting Lead, you will oversee the evaluation and onboarding of specialty insurance programs. We want an innovative mindset that can help refine our risk appetite and support our commercial expansion. You will utilise the latest technology to work efficiently and make smarter, data-driven decisions across our portfolio.

Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing, evaluating, and onboarding new insurance opportunities with a focus on technical excellence.
  • Support broader business goals by identifying new ways to expand the partnership book.
  • Conduct thorough qualitative and quantitative analysis of program profitability and risks.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations and product teams to streamline internal workflows.
  • Assist in maintaining and refining underwriting manuals and appetite statements.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Construction underwriting, ideally within an SME or MGA setting.
  • Strong multi-line product knowledge and familiarity with DA oversight.
  • Familiarity with building and retaining broker relationships.
  • A data-driven approach with high attention to detail regarding pricing and compliance.
  • Understanding of why insurance organisations care about loss ratios and the ability to translate that into smart underwriting.
  • A track record of testing, learning, and pivoting to help an organisation explore new markets.
