Working within the Edinburgh analog/mixed signal design team, this role will involve the architecture, design and verification of analog and mixed signal IP for precision, low‑power, custom analog ICs. The successful candidate will have a wide range of experience in the specification, design and verification of complex analog blocks in nanometer CMOS technologies. They must be capable of defining, leading, and implementing transistor‑level circuit solutions to achieve a variety of challenging noise, distortion, power consumption and cost requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and verification of analog circuits
  • Leadership and ownership of complex analog IP development
  • Technical mentoring and peer review of mixed‑signal design and layout
  • Customer presentation of IP designs
  • Documentation and design review presentation to internal and external audiences
Requirements
  • A good Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree in Electronics or a related discipline.
  • A wide range of experience with analog and mixed‑signal IC design, preferably in nanometer CMOS technologies.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and documentation ability.
  • Self‑motivated, with strong leadership qualities, a keen desire to learn and improve designs and methodologies, value teamwork, and a positive outlook.
  • Experience of one or more of the following technical areas:
  • Embedded power management including in BCD technologies
  • Data converter design
  • Amplifier (LNAs, OTAs, and PGAs) design
  • Low‑power precision analog design techniques
  • Experience and a good working knowledge in analog and mixed‑signal design and debug tools in many of the areas below:
    • Schematic, layout, and simulation flow (e.g. Cadence Virtuoso)
    • Spectre and/or other SPICE circuit simulators
    • Behavioural modelling of digital and analog circuits
