Broadcast Virtual is an augmented reality company that provides the expertise to turn live sports events into advertising platforms without the need for physical signage. Our solution allows real-time insertion of virtual advertisements in any type of live sporting event using industry leading tracking technology and machine learning to seamlessly integrate with live broadcasts.

We are looking for a proactive, self-motivated individual to join our team in Manchester as a VR Technician in a full time capacity. The role is primarily a technical role that requires working on site at various stadium locations around the UK and abroad, usually on weekends.

Role

  • Reporting to our UK Operations Manager
  • Attend live outside broadcasts as the primary VR Tech at various locations around the UK and abroad
  • Set up and operate VR systems and broadcast camera equipment at live outside broadcasts (involves a degree of physical labour)
  • General maintenance of VR systems
  • Logistics planning and booking as required, including flights, accommodation, vehicles and freight
  • Liaising with broadcast stakeholders in the lead up to onsite delivery
  • Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager

Experience

  • Broadcast Virtual has a well developed training package and will provide training for the software involved in the VR delivery, although experience using visual and/or technical software is beneficial.
  • Experience working with computer hardware is beneficial
  • Experience in a technical role in either the broadcast or IT industry or similar is highly advantageous

Required

  • Valid unrestricted driving licence

Nice to have

  • Some working technical knowledge of camera systems
  • Some working technical knowledge of video signals
  • OB experience
